How IndiaKit works

IndiaKit is a small Node app on CompCode’s Contabo VPS, served at india-kit.compcodesolutions.com behind Traefik. There is no account. Most maths runs from the numbers you submit for that one request. Four lookups leave our server: PIN, weather, mid-market FX, and QR image generation.

What we compute here

EMI, SIP, GST, HRA and the rest use the same schoolbook formulas Indian banks and AMCs print. The default home-loan example is ₹40 lakh at 8.5% for 20 years, which is about ₹34,713 a month. That is a planning snapshot. Floating-rate resets, processing fees and stamp duty are not inside the box.

Tax is a slab sketch for teaching, not an assessment order. New-regime bands in the model start with a nil slab to ₹4 lakh, then 5/10/15/20/30 plus 4% cess. Old-regime output ignores 80C unless you have already subtracted it. File on incometax.gov.in.

What leaves the building

PIN lookup is proxied to the public India Post PIN API. Weather uses Open-Meteo geocoding restricted to India. FX uses a public mid-market feed against INR. QR codes are drawn on this server with the qrcode library so your UPI string is not sent to an image CDN.

We rate-limit those routes. We do not store a history of your salary or your PIN as an account. Ordinary web logs (IP, URL, user agent) exist for abuse control.

What we will not build

No Aadhaar, PAN, OTP, or bank-account fields. Government identity work belongs on uidai.gov.in, incometax.gov.in, voters.eci.gov.in, passportindia.gov.in, gst.gov.in and parivahan.gov.in.

No dummy ad banners. AdSense stays off until a publisher ID is set on the server. Calculators will not change a result to sell a loan.
