National Pension System corpus sketch

NPS Pension Calculator

NPS is a retirement product regulated through the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, not a bank FD. This page compounds an annual contribution at a typed expected return. ₹60,000 a year for 25 years at 10% grows to about ₹64.91 lakh in the annuity sketch. Annuity purchase rules at 60, tax on lump sum, and fund-management fees are not fully modelled.

The cash-flow question

State-government employees and private-sector joiners in Bhopal and Thiruvananthapuram are pushed toward NPS and then left with a login. IndiaKit shows the compounding mountain. The official account remains on enps.nsdl.com / cra.nsdl.com / protean and npstrust.org.in — we never ask for PRAN.

The maths on this page

FV = annual × [((1+r)^n − 1)/r] × (1+r). Defaults: ₹60,000, 25 years, 10% → ≈ ₹64,90,906 on ₹15 lakh contributed. Asset-class mix (E/C/G) will not earn a flat 10%.

At exit, a portion of the corpus generally must buy an annuity from an IRDAI insurer; the rest may be withdrawn under then-current tax rules. This page stops at corpus.

₹60,000 a year NPS for 25 years from Bhopal

A 35-year-old teacher in Bhopal contributes ₹60,000 a year and hopes for 10% until 60. The sketch shows about ₹64.91 lakh. She reads PFRDA exit rules so she is not surprised that a slice must become a pension, not cash.

What a bank still has to confirm

Flat return, annual contribution, no fees, no annuity rate. Not the CRA calculator. Never enter PRAN or OTP here. Official: npstrust.org.in.

Common questions

Is 10% a PFRDA guarantee?

No. NPS equity can have negative years. Government (G) securities will not print 10% in every decade. Type a lower rate for a conservative picture.

Does this include the 60% lumpsum at retirement?

It only estimates corpus. How much you may withdraw as lumpsum versus annuity is in PFRDA exit regulations then in force.

Can I model monthly NPS contribution?

This version uses an annual contribution field. You can multiply a monthly amount by 12 and type that.
