The US Navy circumference method estimates body-fat percentage from height, neck, waist and (for women) hip. A male default of 172 cm height, 38 cm neck, 82 cm waist prints about 15% on this page. It is a tape-measure cartoon, not a DEXA scan, not medical advice, and not a recruiting-standard verdict for the Indian Army.
A screening number, not a diagnosis
Gyms in Gurgaon still call tape estimates “your body fat.” IndiaKit names the US Navy method so you know which cartoon you are in. Women must fill hip; men can ignore hip in the formula even if the field is visible.
The estimate we use
Male: 495 / (1.0324 − 0.19077 log10(waist−neck) + 0.15456 log10(height)) − 450. Female: 495 / (1.29579 − 0.35004 log10(waist+hip−neck) + 0.221 log10(height)) − 450. Heights and girths in centimetres.
Tape position (navel vs narrowest waist) changes the number. Military SOPs specify locations; this page does not watch you.
