What “indicative” means on this site

Several IndiaKit tools print a rupee figure that is not a government fee circular and not a bank sanction. We use the word indicative on purpose. This page lists what that word covers, so a review — or a reader — does not treat a challan sketch as a court order.

Fees that change by state and by year

Passport, driving-licence and vehicle-registration figures are starting points from commonly published slabs, then a reminder to confirm on passportindia.gov.in or Parivahan. State RTOs add service charges. Tatkal is not the same as normal. We will not scrape a live fee table we cannot keep honest.

Fines, taxis, electricity

Challan amounts follow a simplified MV Act sketch. Taxi and auto fares use a Bengaluru / Delhi / Mumbai base-plus-per-km table, not the live app surge. Electricity is a generic slab, not BESCOM or MSEDCL for your meter. If your DISCOM bill disagrees, the DISCOM is right.
