Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Guide

Aadhaar enrolment and updates are UIDAI’s job. The official site is uidai.gov.in. IndiaKit will not ask for your 12-digit number, VID, OTP, or biometric. This guide is orientation: where to go, what not to paste into random websites, and why a cyber-cafe agent is not UIDAI.

A sketch, then the official portal

Residents in Darbhanga and students in Pune still hand Aadhaar photocopies to WhatsApp groups. A unique article that only sends you to UIDAI is the honest product. There is no status tracker on our server because we are not authorised to be one.

Where the figure comes from

Enrolment, demographic updates, PVC, and lock/unlock biometrics are documented on uidai.gov.in. Book or walk in only through that official path and UIDAI-listed centres.

Never type Aadhaar, VID, or OTP into IndiaKit, into a Google look-alike, or into an agent’s private form. UIDAI will not ask for your banking password.

Updating an address the official way

A tenant in Pune needs an address update. She opens uidai.gov.in, follows the update path UIDAI describes, and ignores an “instant Aadhaar” Telegram bot. IndiaKit never sees her number.

We never ask for identity numbers

Guide only, no application, no status API. Official: uidai.gov.in. We will never ask for Aadhaar, OTP, or bank details. Rules and fees change; UIDAI wins.

Enrolment and demographic updates happen at UIDAI-authorised centres or through the official UIDAI website. Carry the documents UIDAI lists for proof of identity and address. IndiaKit will never ask you to type an Aadhaar number, an OTP, or a VID.

Name, address and date-of-birth corrections have their own document lists. Locking and unlocking biometrics is a UIDAI account action, not a third-party “premium update”. If a WhatsApp number offers to “fast-track Aadhaar” for a fee, close the chat.

Download or print an Aadhaar letter only from uidai.gov.in or the mAadhaar app. Photocopies of Aadhaar are still identity documents — do not upload them to random forms, including this one.

Common questions

Can you check if my Aadhaar is linked to PAN?

No. That linkage is an Income-tax / UIDAI process on official portals. IndiaKit has no field for either number.

Is an agent in a kiosk official?

Only if UIDAI lists that centre. Ask to see the official branding and pay only as UIDAI describes. Keep receipts.

Do I need Aadhaar to use IndiaKit calculators?

No. EMI, SIP and weather do not use identity numbers. Government guides exist to send you to official sites.
