Voter ID Registration Guide

Electoral registration in India is the Election Commission’s job. The public portal is voters.eci.gov.in. IndiaKit will not take your EPIC number, Aadhaar, or OTP. This guide is a pointer: new registration, shifting constituency, and corrections belong on ECI’s site and BLO process, not on a political WhatsApp PDF.

A sketch, then the official portal

Students who moved from Patna to Bengaluru and newly 18-year-olds in Shillong miss the roll because they trusted a party booth volunteer’s Google Form. A unique ECI-first article is the whole product.

Where the figure comes from

Create or update Form 6 / 7 / 8 as currently named on voters.eci.gov.in. Dates for special revision are notified by ECI.

Carry the documents ECI lists. A utility bill versus a passport — the portal’s list wins, not this paragraph.

Never type EPIC or Aadhaar into IndiaKit. We have no roll-status API on purpose.

A student shifting from Patna to Bengaluru

After a hostel move, a student uses voters.eci.gov.in to shift registration rather than staying on the Patna roll by accident. IndiaKit does not store the EPIC. The BLO and ECI remain the officials.

We never ask for identity numbers

Guide only. Official: voters.eci.gov.in. No EPIC lookup. Electoral rules and form numbers can change with ECI instructions.

New voter registration, corrections, and deletions run through the Election Commission’s voters.eci.gov.in portal and the Voter Helpline app. Booth-level officers exist for a reason; a calculator site is not one of them.

Form 6 (new registration), Form 7 (objection/deletion) and Form 8 (correction) are ECI forms. We will not host lookalikes. IndiaKit never asks for EPIC numbers in a login, and we do not send OTPs.

Check your polling station on the official directory before an election morning. Screenshots from social media are not an electoral roll.

Common questions

Can you show my polling station?

No. ECI’s voter services do that after you authenticate with them. We will not ask for EPIC.

I turned 18 last week. Am I automatically enrolled?

No. You apply as ECI currently requires. Age eligibility is in the Representation of the People law and ECI notes — read those, not a reel.

Is NVSP a different site?

ECI has consolidated voter services; start at voters.eci.gov.in as this guide names, and follow only links on ECI domains.
