Age windows for JEE, NDA and NEET sketches

Academic Age Eligibility Calculator

Entrance bulletins in India publish age as on a date, with exceptions. This page uses a coarse rule: JEE and NEET sketches want about 17+, NDA about 16.5 to 19.5 years. A date of birth of 1 July 2008 is about 18.2 years on 18 September 2026 and therefore “likely eligible on age” for the JEE default. The NTA or UPSC PDF of that year is the law; this is a rehearsal.

The conversion students actually type

Parents in Kota and students in Itanagar lose a cycle by misreading “17 years as on 31 December.” IndiaKit computes approximate age from DOB and applies a tiny window per exam flag. It does not know relaxations for reserved categories or the latest upper-age court orders.

The formula used here

Age in years ≈ (today − DOB) / 365.25. JEE/NEET: ok if age ≥ 17. NDA: ok if 16.5 ≤ age < 19.5. Default DOB 2008-07-01, exam jee.

Attempt limits (JEE Main) are not age. Nationality and physical standards for NDA are not age. Read upsc.gov.in and nta.ac.in.

Never paste Aadhaar. Use the birth date from a certificate.

Born 1 July 2008, JEE age sketch

A student born 1 July 2008 is about 18.2 years old in September 2026. The JEE flag says likely eligible on age. They still open that year’s NTA information bulletin for the exact “as on” date and attempt count.

Boards publish their own notes

Approximate age, three exam flags only. Category relaxations omitted. Official: nta.ac.in, upsc.gov.in. Indicative.

Common questions

Does NEET have an upper age limit on this page?

This sketch only tests 17+. Upper-age policy has changed in public debate. Believe the current NTA bulletin, not a website memory.

Why is NDA a range?

NDA notifications have long used a band of ages as on a stated date, near 16½ to 19½. The exact dates in the UPSC advertisement override 16.5–19.5 here.

Can I check JEE attempt number?

Not here. Attempts are a different rule. This tool is age only.
