Police Clearance Guide

A Police Clearance Certificate for many Indian passport holders is applied through the Passport Seva system. Official: passportindia.gov.in. IndiaKit will not take your file number, passport number, or police-station OTP. This guide exists so “PCC apply” searchers do not paste passport scans into a freelance email.

Nurses leaving for the Gulf from Kozhikode and students heading to Canada from Chandigarh both need PCC language that is not a visa-agent brochure. The unique job of this page is to name Passport Seva and to refuse identity fields.

Where the figure comes from

Log into Passport Seva as MEA currently requires, choose the PCC service, and attend police verification if asked. Fees belong on that portal’s grid (see also our indicative passport-fee tool for booklet fees, which is a different product).

Foreign governments may want an apostille or embassy stamp after PCC. That is MEA / state protocol, not IndiaKit.

Common questions

Is PCC the same as a passport renewal?

No. PCC is a clearance certificate. Renewal is a travel document. Both may live on Passport Seva but they are different services.

Can you track my police verification?

No. Track on Passport Seva with the credentials MEA issued you. Do not share those with us.

Does a traffic challan block PCC?

That is a police/MEA facts question. We will not guess. Ask the process named on the official site.
