Working Days Calculator

Offices in Gurugram and courts in Chennai still count “working days” as Monday to Friday unless a circular says otherwise. From 1 January 2026 to 31 January 2026 this engine counts 22 weekdays. It does not know Republic Day, Pongal or a company-restricted holiday.

A number you need in a queue

Notice periods, SLA credits and “T+3 working days” brokerage language all need a weekday count. IndiaKit loops each date and skips Saturday and Sunday only. That is the ISO office week, not a bank’s holiday calendar in Mumbai.

How the lookup or formula runs

Each date from start to end inclusive is tested: Sunday = 0, Saturday = 6 are skipped. Defaults 2026-01-01 to 2026-01-31 → 22. 26 January 2026 is a Monday and is counted, even though it is a national holiday.

If your office works Saturday, this number is too low. If your factory is a six-day week, add Saturdays on paper.

Inclusive of both ends: if start equals end and that day is a Wednesday, the count is 1.

January 2026 weekdays for a Gurugram SLA

A vendor SLA in Gurugram runs 1–31 January 2026. IndiaKit prints 22 weekdays. The vendor still excludes 26 January in the contract’s holiday annexure, so they invoice on 21 days. The tool did the weekday part; the annexure did the patriotic part.

Common questions

Why is Republic Day still counted?

Because the function only skips weekends. National holidays need a gazette list this page does not ship.

Are second Saturdays off?

Not here. Many Indian offices take them off; add your own subtraction.

Can I exclude a week of leave?

Split into two ranges and add, or shorten the end date. There is no leave field.
