Converting 18:30 IST is 13:00 UTC, 17:00 Dubai (UTC+4), 21:00 Singapore (UTC+8), and a New York figure that this page approximates by subtracting 9 hours 30 minutes (it will be wrong when the US is on daylight time). The default 18:30 → UTC 13:00 is the clean case.

Fares and time, not tickets

Founders in Bengaluru calling New York and families in Kozhikode calling Dubai still mix IST with GMT. IndiaKit converts a clock time you type, without a date, so DST for the US is flagged as approximate on purpose.

Parse HH:MM as IST. Add minutes: UTC −330, Dubai −90, Singapore +150, New York −570. Wrap into 00:00–23:59. Default 18:30 and UTC → 13:00.

If you type 18:30 without a leading zero on minutes, the parser still wants HH:MM. Use 09:05 not 9:5.

Why is New York approximate?

The US observes daylight saving. Without a date, −9:30 from IST is a winter-ish offset sketch. Check a DST-aware clock for the actual day.

Is Dubai always UTC+4?

The UAE does not use DST in the way the US does; UTC+4 is the usual civil time. Still confirm during unusual political time changes, which are rare.

Does India ever use DST?

Not in current civil time. IST is UTC+5:30 year-round. This tool assumes that.
